But one Danish company is on a mission to put the art in golf cart. “When it came to the golf cart 18 years ago, they all looked the same – there weren’t any serious high-end products out there,” Lynge told CNN. You want something that’s sort of Lamborghini-shaped – very low and wide – but the golf cart is the exact opposite.”Tiger Woods rides a conventional golf cart at a tournament in 2005. Lynge took the prize ceremony event as an opportunity to pitch a dream that would be realized in 2016 – a Garia golf car inspired by Mercedes-Benz Style. “Really expensive … super exclusive, but also the coolest golf car you’ll ever see,” Lynge said.

It worked well enough for Stewart Cink on Thursday at the British Open. “When the gun goes off and you start in the tournament, you’ve got that adrenaline, and adrenaline does wonders for your jet lag,” Cink, 50, said. It also seemed to do plenty good for his scorecard, which reported a three-under-par 68 that positioned him high on the first-round leaderboard at northwest England’s Royal Liverpool Golf Club. There was Cink, who won the 2009 Open at Turnberry in Scotland by outlasting Tom Watson, then 59, in a playoff. But Christo Lamprecht, an amateur who plays for Georgia Tech, finished his five-under round with the lead.

Former US president Donald Trump at Trump Turnberry golf course, in South Ayrshire, during his visit to the UK. Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged Republican lawmakers to let the United States default on its debt if Democrats don't agree to spending cuts. "I say to the Republicans out there — congressmen, senators — if they don't give you massive cuts, you're going to have to do a default," Trump said. Trump's words could encourage his many GOP supporters in the House to harden their stance against raising the debt limit without corresponding spending cuts. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said the U.S. government could hit the debt limit as soon as June 1.

LONDON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump's two Scottish golf courses lost 4.4 million pounds ($5.44 million) in 2021, according to accounts released on Thursday, continuing a consistent run of red ink at the clubs under his ownership. SLC Turnberry Ltd., which manages the famed Turnberry golf resort, said closure for part of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to pre-tax losses of 3.7 million pounds. Trump International Golf Club Scotland Ltd, which operates a club Trump built north of Aberdeen, reported a pre-tax loss of 697,000 pounds. The results were helped by the companies receiving just over 1 million pounds in COVID payroll support from the UK government. MIAMI — In a luxury Miami resort earlier this month, leading conservative politicians, influencers and academics gathered to formulate a grand path forward for the American right. Meanwhile, the broader American left was repeatedly denounced as the “enemy” and a “regime” with “evil” ideas. The conference was backed by substantial donations from conservative advocacy groups and think tanks that included the Common Sense Society, The Heritage Foundation and the Conservative Partnership Institute. One panel featured a presentation titled “How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Christian Nationalism,” though some attendees saw a more clear distinction between the two nationalist ideologies. “Sometimes people get swept up in the ideas of Christian nationalism,” Jordan Esrig, a senior at Vanderbilt University who attended the conference, said.
